The Institute for Life Continuity Studies

The Institute for Life Continuity Studies (ILCS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. ILCS exists to steward and modernize public education and research related to reincarnation and life continuity — preserving decades of prior work while building new tools, frameworks, and community infrastructure for the future.

Our approach is evidence-labeled, privacy-first, and transparent about uncertainty. We aim to support perspective, reduce fear, and encourage empathy — without sensationalism or certainty-first claims.

“Cultivating peace through reincarnation and life continuity education.”

What ILCS Does

ILCS serves as the institutional home for responsible reincarnation research and education. We do this by:

  • Preserving and modernizing the 330+ case archive originally compiled by Dr. Walter Semkiw at ReincarnationResearch.com — applying retroactive evidence labeling, privacy protections, and updated publishing standards
  • Providing ethical, evidence-aware frameworks for evaluating reincarnation claims — including our dual-track methodology and A–F evidence labeling system
  • Supporting families and experiencers with practical guidance and reassurance, especially parents of children reporting past-life memories
  • Building modern tools — including the Reincarnation Case Map, AI-assisted case analysis, and the forthcoming Continuity Archive — that help people organize, reflect, and learn without pressure to conclude
  • Publishing educational content through blog posts, video series, webinars, and community discussion via ReincarnationForum.com

Our Posture: A Bridge, Not a Decider

ILCS is intentionally positioned between belief and dismissal. We organize, translate, and educate. We do not declare identities or over-claim certainty.

We treat reincarnation as a subject of inquiry — not doctrine, not entertainment, and not therapy. Investigation does not require certainty, and participation does not require belief.

Our institutional voice is: spiritually deep, intellectually sharp, emotionally safe, and practically helpful.

How ILCS Relates to Reignite

Reignite is campaign language used by ILCS to describe renewed momentum in public education and responsible publishing around reincarnation and life continuity. It is not a separate organization — it is a strategic initiative of ILCS.

Reignite began as a simple way to describe the transition of Walter Semkiw’s ReincarnationResearch.com legacy into a modern institutional home. The name captures the spirit of what we are doing: keeping a flame alive, with fresh energy, modern tools, and transparent method.

“The candle changes; the flame continues.”

Walter Semkiw’s Legacy

ILCS builds upon the life’s work of Dr. Walter Semkiw (1954–2024), founder of ReincarnationResearch.com and a pioneering voice in modern reincarnation research. Walter authored Return of the Revolutionaries, Born Again, and Origin of the Soul. He developed the 10-Point Validation Matrix that remains the backbone of ILCS case evaluation, and he pioneered a dual-track methodology combining empirical investigation with channeled input through trance medium Kevin Ryerson.

His visionary force, scholarly curiosity, and tireless devotion laid the groundwork for the archive, the methodology, and the community that ILCS now stewards. We remain committed to advancing this work with the same discipline, care, and respect Walter brought to it.

Support for this work is directed through ILCS-controlled donation pages, with permission from Walter Semkiw’s family estate.
